6 Signs that it’s Time to Quit

August 27, 2008

When should you seek opportunity elsewhere? If you exhibit the classic dissatisfaction signs below, start updating your resume-you aren’t helping your career by sticking with a job that no longer brings out your best.

Cubicle catfighting: When small stuff like who’s hoarding all the red felt tips makes your blood boild, more stimulating work work to focus on is desperately needed.

Endless lunch: 12:00 to 1:00 used to seem like a monumental waste of time to your eager ambition. Now, 11:30 to 1:30 seems.. sensibly European.

Destination unkown: You can’t visualize where you’d like to be in the company five years from now.

Daydream believer: Your fantasies of escape are getting more attention than your overflowing "in" box.

Autopilot: A coworker returns from a two-week vacation, asking what went on in the office while she was gone. You can’t even remember what happened yesterday.

Good enought: You used to go for extra credit on any project that came your way. Now, passing grade and no problems are enought to make you happy.
